Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The essential one-step product for complete leather care. URAD NEUTRAL brings back and revives the original color and is remarkable in restoring damaged or dried-up leathers to mint condition. Also, it offers efficient protection against water, salt, calcium and mold problems. Whether used as a simple shoe polish, as a cleaner for golf shoes or as a conditioner for an expensive leather sofa or car interior, URAD will surpass any other product as to ease of use, dry time and quality of results. Preferably use URAD NEUTRAL on leather furniture and saddles, and URAD COLOR to bring a better shine and hide scuff marks better on boots and shoes.

2 out of 5 stars good at first, then beware   February 16, 2008

I started using this stuff to repair auto-seat leather, bought it at Houston Auto Show originally ~2002. Did a good job on the seats, although I never could get a straight story from the ladies who were the dealer. They said something about it was some kind of ultrarefined lanolin (asked on 2-3 different occasions). If that's so, why does it smell like lighter fluid?
That maybe should have tipped me off, but using it daily on shoes, it is the EASIEST shine I ever got. Just put on a very light coat daily, rub it in lightly, and you're ready to go: 15-30 seconds compared to 5-10 minutes to use some kind of cream polish. And they look great.
Now the bad news. Last year I bought a couple of pair of Lucchese boots, total tag about $800, used it for 9 months or so on them, and they started cracking badly. I'm guessing that petrochem base just slowly rapes the leather, particularly the soft leather. I've managed to disguise/restore one pair with shoe cleaner/conditioner and cream-base polish, but the other pair, the $500 ones, just might not make it. Maybe if I had used the conditioner too blah blah blah, but the jar sure as hell doesn't tell you that; neither did the ladies.
My advice would be MAYBE USE IT BUT WITH GREAT CAUTION AND WATCH FOR THE FIRST SIGNS OF CRACKING.

4 out of 5 stars Great leather conditioner, funky smell   February 27, 2007

This stuff is very different from any other leather conditioner that I've used and seems to work very well at restoring shine to leather. It does not seem to really condition/soften leather (see my review of Tenderly leather conditioner by the same company) but does work well at restoring the finish of the surface.

Two caveats: it has a very strong pine-needle odor (I used it on my car seats and my car still smells like pine needles a week later) and it seems to make the surface a little sticky. They tell you to use very very little in the instructions, but it's hard to see on dark leather, so it's hard to say whether I over-applied, but regardless, the stickiness and smell is worth the 1-star deduction.

5 out of 5 stars URAD leather conditioner in dark brown   February 11, 2007

I purchased a vintage goatskin jacket on eBay and the leather was a bit worse than I had hoped. There was surface finish lost due to scrapes on the arms/shoulder and normal wear at the seams. The leather looked faded with the grain hardly visible.

Looking around for a solution I decided to try Urad conditioner with the dark brown color. This product is an oily-looking paste that comes with a chunk of foam to use an applicator.

The paste goes on easily (though a bit messy) and the change in appearance was dramatic and immediate. The scrapes were quickly hidden by the color, the finish darkened a bit and began to shine, and the pebbly grain of the goatskin started popping up. The surface was a bit sticky until it dried.

Looking at the jacket the next day in a strong light, I could see that the color hiding the scarred areas dried to a medium brown (still a big improvement) and hopefully will darken more with future applications. The grain still stands out, there is still a shine, and the result is quite attractive. I also notice that the jacket creaks like new leather during movement unlike when I received it.

This is a nice product and did a better job than expected.
